As we enter this room, the first thing that envelops us is the warm natural light that filters through a glass door, wide open. This entrance of light not only illuminates the space but also symbolises openness and clarity, fundamental principles of Zen design. Each ray of sunlight seems to whisper calm and serenity, inviting us to leave our worries behind.
A low, simple but deeply symbolic table takes centre stage. On it rests a serenely contemplative Buddha figure, accompanied by a small candle holder whose flickering flame could represent the inner light we all seek. The minimalist arrangement of objects – a japa mala, a bell and other ritual elements – suggests a space dedicated to introspection and meditation.
To one side, a plant in a simple ceramic pot brings a touch of freshness and life, while the pond with water lilies and a koi fish in the foreground connects us with nature. Water, a symbol of tranquillity and fluidity, adds an extra layer of serenity to the atmosphere.
The wall hanging, with its design emulating nature, complements the scene with subtlety and elegance. This decorative element not only beautifies the space but also reinforces the connection to the natural, a pillar of Zen design.
