I love it when I can look at a photograph and see life, see a story taking place. And, OK, like Pepsi says in their notes for this photo, I love cafes! I also love corners and shadows and little places where you can feel like you are not in the middle of a busy cafe, even whilst being in a busy cafe. This is that table that when you see it’s occupied, you grumble under your breath and look for another cafe. You could start half a dozen stories or more from this photograph, and that’s without even working at it. Consider the details, and you’ll have even more. Is the story about the hat? The carrot? I’d meet someone at this corner to write any of these stories, pretty much any day.
