They say everything in life is about timing. Agree? Disagree? Unsure? If you fall into the uncertain camp like I do, then maybe this story that I have to tell will help you decide one way or the other. Listen on.
Kærri (kaerri.rae) was shown Second Life in 2007 by her Real Life eldest son, but it did not appeal to her at the time. But on that fateful day on January 16th, 2009, she decided to test it out for herself, and she was hooked! Ms. Rae’s first few days in SL were rough, like it is for everyone who are new, but she quickly found her footing.
A little while later. Ms. Rae met her partner, Cain Maven, owner of Maven Homes and Quantum Luxury Homes and would often watch him make his creations. This act inspired her to learn how to make her own furniture. As her skills in fashioning furnishings got better, she decided to try her luck and start selling her items, this is how her store Kaerri was born. Kaerri is a shop that offers premium contemporary styled merchandise.
After the success of her store, Ms. Rae became the organizer of the Christmas Event; An affair for home and garden shops to have a free space at to sell their wares. She also was a sponsor of it with the help from Crito Galtier, owner of the Grove Country Club Estates and Jules Neville, owner of Surplus Motors. A few years later she became the overseerer of the RFL H&G Expo. For those who have not heard the acronym RFL before, RFL stands for Relay For Life. Relay for Life is a multi-month fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. In 2023, Ms. Rae opened the PLAZA, a shopping soirée that occurs twice a year and offers items for the house and yard.
As you can see, Ms. Rae has become quite the designer and entrepreneur. But do you think that she would be just as successful if she began her career at another time or do you think we create our own future? Whichever one it is, I am certain that all of our dreams will come true at some point during our lives.
