I’m sure most of you have heard the old saying “April showers bring May flowers” and it has certainly been rainy here in the southern US. Buds are forming everywhere and the trees are leaving a lovely (ok, maybe not so lovely) yellow coating of pollen on everything. Thankfully Second Life is pollen free. I wanted to create a spring photo that included those “April showers” and while there are several creators with rain makers that look great in-world, they just don’t photograph very well. With that disclaimer, the rain you see here was added in post editing but I will give you the details on some of my favorite rain items in this post.
This photo is filled with some of my most tried and true (and favorite) decorating items/creators including the Weeping Willow and Blooming Tree from The Little Branch, Mixed Wildflowers from LOVE, Cliff Hills and Wildgrasses from HPMD, cows from Just Animals and my most favorite gazebo in Second Life, the Persimmon Summerhouse from LISP.
Some new items (new or new to me) that I’ve included are Cosmos Mouse from Konoha and the Bloom Pillows and Pretty Peony Prints from Spruce. Other items rounding out the photo are the Autumn Garden Floral Rainboots and Rustic Fence from Nutmeg, Nona Bird Bath from Granola, Fly Agaric Mushrooms from The Little Branch and the Stone Path from TUFF.
Now on to the subject of this photo, the rain. I love Drizzle from {anc}. It comes in different sizes and has options for day or night use. These “panels”, for lack of a better word, are super easy to place in just the right spot. My other favorite is an old school emitter that I have had forever. It is the Misty Rain Emitter from Basic Elements. It is perfect for creating a full atmosphere since it has both rain and thunder sounds that can be turned on or off individually as well as mist and of course, rain!
Happy Spring and happy decorating!
